Tragic Incident in La Plata: Child Dies During Robbery

This Tuesday, a tragic event occurred in the Altos de San Lorenzo area, a town in the La Plata district, where a seven-year-old girl died during a robbery. Hours later, authorities arrested two minors in connection with the incident.

Two thieves, aged 14 and 17, were apprehended following an extensive police operation. The incident occurred when these individuals stole a vehicle parked in front of a wholesale supermarket at the intersection of 72nd and 24th streets. The girl was inside the car and, after traveling a few blocks, was run over by the same vehicle at 82nd and 28th.

The minor, identified as Kim Gómez, 7 years old, had reportedly tried to exit the moving car, falling onto the pavement and becoming trapped under the wheels. Upon hearing the tragic news, the girl's mother had to be calmed as she went into shock.

The police launched an operation to capture those responsible in an open area, while forensic experts began analyzing the crime scene. The suspects were apprehended, one of them found between 134th and 85th streets, and subsequently taken to the local police station.

The case prosecutor, Eugenia Di Lorenzo, is evaluating the evidence gathered so far, while the investigation continues with new statements and pending the results of the autopsy, which will be known on Wednesday. The incorporation of recordings from surveillance cameras, both public and private, is also anticipated in the case file to clarify what happened in this tragic event.
